Blob-aholism

This is my new term...you like? ;)

I coined it when I was describing my birthday twin and made us get off quite a few stops too early to make her walk like is good to move her qi! LOL

But now I have fallen prey myself to Blob-aholism...cos it's SO. DAMN. COLD. Literally I've turned into a blobaholic out of necessity...to conserve energy. If I don't eat SH*tloads and am not idle I just keep seriously looooosing weight! Cos my body is literally drawing on any fat reserves I manage to stock up JUST to keep warm!

It's completely unbelievable how continously wet and cold and icy windchill this year has been...I was born in a tropical country...as I get older the more and more I feel I belong back in one!

Okay end of whinge. It was an interesting whinge though or at least I presented it interestingly, right? ;)

City Life...Oh the TRAUMA.

So like a piece of lichen stuck to a rock my better self yanked me from my sanctuary confines to a necessary appointment in the big city...as per usual it didn't disappoint on the *gross* (absolument!) front...

My bus ride in the city was absolutely chockers packed in like sardines bathed in a sea of non stop activity of wireless devices so that I could feel myself burning up. As it crawled along I was so uncomfortable I got off as distant as time could afford and walked the remaining four stops to my destination. Not to be outdone, my bus ride from that destination: as soon as I sat down a pile of pink projectile puke was emitted from a child's cough and thank goodness for my nervy reflexes that I managed to whisk my feet to the side just in the time...the loud bang alerted the driver to the fact a kid had just vomited on the bus (to their credit, the mother and friend did a great job of cleaning up after the mess)...In any case with nothing around but peak gridlock there was nothing to be done but be bathed in projectile pink vomit germs for the next 15 minutes...

On the next bus I found myself thinking "God, why must people ALWAYS sit next to me, even when there are SPARE seats to be found?" I kind of felt a sense of dejavu...like how every single tradesperson etc seems to need to GO in MY bathroom...I'm starting to think it's cos I must give a sense of being clean and hygenic and not offputting enough...maybe I need to get some tatts, a bad smell and a scary face full of piercings? Just once I'd love to be able to go for an empty corner of ANYWHERE and not have ANYBODY have to want to share that space...uninvited.

At the train station I found myself really needing to pee...there was nothing to be done I had to go...as I lined up in yet another ridiculous sized queue I had a bad feeling...it was fulfilled...at the front of the queue a door opened-the toilet I was supposed to go to since I was next...the oversized lady came out with a shamed look on her face...this can't be good I remember thinking to myself...but I had to go as it was my turn in the queue... As soon as I entered the cubicle a putrid smell met me...and the cover of the seat had been turned to hide what lay inside...I flushed the toilet as a preventative measure...to no avail...a big stinking fresh POO stuck to the side greeted me on opening sesame-arghhh!!!...I glanced outside watching the next girl in the queue go to another much cleaner (I suspected) cubicle...another glance at the long queue and I was just like Steel your nerves and just go...so I did but spent extra long washing my hands with a heck of a lot of soap and warm water.

What did I conclude by the end of the time in the city? THE CITY is a bloody disgusting HEALTH HAZARD! No wonder I got soooo sick.

In any case I was SOOOOOO FILLED WITH GRATITUDE when I saw my usual bus in my nice clean FRESH smelling town, and the cheery hot regular bus driver, the spick and span shining gleaming bus with ample seats and with no offensive odours...

I love being a country bumpkin. I'll say it again...I can never. ever ever EVER. live in a big city AGAIN. ...ick!
...ick! ...ick!

THE END(...lots of LAUNDRY to do tomorrow!)

Wash Me Clean

So it’s 420am and the sun hasn’t even broken yet. I duck out to the loo and spy the miner? In an adjacent room in his orange suit and hard hat has left for work already. I’m in rural Australia…Loving it up, lapping it up!!! In summary, I AM SO CUT OUT TO BE A COUNTRY BUMPKIN ^^ ^^ ^^!

But I digress… the reason for this post: I had a very “revelatory”? conversation with a good mate last night probably one I could have used a long time ago…I had so much guilt I couldn’t sleep. I felt almost like I was confessing to a priest…anyway hopefully like the title of the KD Lang song and how it seems to work for Catholics I’ve been cleansed…and can go back to sleep!

On a somewhat related note I have been thinking about baptism…the jury is out but wow, talk about the ultimate “cleansing”. When I got this leaf necklace for my 30th it signified the birth of a new era of living by faith…but maybe I need a ritual cleansing too…if anyone has had one( an adult voluntary baptism), would be interested to know if you think it’s worthwhile…Later bloggies!

P.S Oh boy has obtaining a workable net connection in the country been somewhat of a challenge!!! So yes apologies for not being around in the blogosphere to read all your interesting blogs…When I miss the net I miss all my blogger peeps!!!

*HO your candy is in the mail- don’t usually like to spoil surprises but figured I owe you…no doubt you’ve been STARVING without your daily dose of Zhen…hehe ;)

*JJ I’d send you candy too but I don’t think it’d be good for your blood sugar levels- and besides you have your harem ;) BTW it's only cos of your msg I bothered to post...I miss you or our "understanding" too!! Anyway gotta run!!

*how time flies*! 11.1.08, 13.1.08 – la clique: TF♥

I love countryfolk!

So I was out in the country...and forgot how amazingly NICE people are...I had actually forgotten that they are so GIVING- I feel a little drained lately actually cos people seem to take and take and take...and for someone with so many planets in libra when it's not somewhat equal and "Fair" we can get a bit resentful...I think it's one major defect of Big City people- on the whole they are quite a selfish bunch...

Anyway the country escapades just confirm that me going AWOL from the big city is what makes me happiest and I think it's going to be a permanent...

JJ, I <3 countryfolk so much but I lack talent as a poet...if it tickles your fancy can you write an "Ode to Countryfolk" lol I'd like to publish one as my eternal gratitute to the decency and kindness and warm hearted generosity of country people...without them I'd just never recover from everytime city society demoralises my idealistic heart and I'd probably want to escape the entire human race and be a total hermit, lol.

Apart from that I feel guilty to be somewhat "elitist" but people my age on the whole just seem soooo young and immature I can't relate! Thank goodness for the random old soul and older people, also people with life experience...HO I think if you hadn't got married at 19 and popped out 3 bubs I'd find it hard to ever take you seriously or find you credible...

Postcard from...Home.

Home. So relaxing. Just finished my tai chi class and feel as loose as a jellyfish- doubting if I even have bones! A hot guy just yelled at another driver who failed to stop for me at a zebra crossing...it's all about "community" law here...so civilised ;)
The sign at the Hippie Shop today reads: "There are 3 ingredients to the good life...Learning, Earning and Yearning".
A cool breeze cuts through the balmy warmth just enough so it is comfortably pleasant and unsticky. I'm sitting under a canopy dining alfresco on some steaming wok-fresh thick-cut noodles...my favourite!
In front, a father watches while his two young sons take turns divebombing off the jetty...
As the sun prepares to bed down for another night, pelicans bask on the lake soaking up its last rays, and I find myself dreaming of the day I'll be back...
This "adopted home town" is truly an inspiration- it is the one place I never fail to remember to Enjoy The Present. Cheers :)

Hard Wired.

It suddenly hit me at 5am this morning that I can't help if 90% of the population bore me. It's nothing to do with them...it's just in my very DNA...I am not attracted to the norm or convention...everything has to be new, unique, different, unusual and downright weird to capture my interest and keep me inspired! I feel like an insatiable adrenalin junkie...only addicted to interesting people.

ergh...why is it so hard to find them?

Next two days will be heavily commuting- making 2 consecutive day trips "back home"! This hardly makes any logical practical sense but I don't know it's going to happen anyway. It must be the city driving me insane.

Five-Toed Sloth In The City

Now that the non holiday season has kicked in, I find myself wondering what to do. I know I should be responsible and earn and save some money while I have spare time...yet while half-heartedly researching various employment alternatives, I find myself and my inner Hippie first and foremost called...drawn...lured back to The Land: back to basics, crisp mountain air, early mornings, yoga and plant foods only.

The city just does nothing for me except transform me into a five toed SLOTH....because I'm constantly tiiiiiired (think: energy totally sapped by electromagnetic radiation) and uninspired...I just don't feel like doing anything productive! I also don't appreciate the heat or muggy stickiness of Summer here which in this age of global warming is often annoyingly interspersed with wintry blasts of gusty chills or sudden downpours of heavy rain.

Maybe I just need to give myself a good smack and hold myself to Discipline but then I find myself justifying this particular rural stint with it being "value adding" to my future career prospects...What to do? What to do? argh. Isn't it nice to have the luxury of choice? For that I am truly grateful!!! Maybe I should just enjoy the luxury of not having to work for the relatively short time it is available...although this would mean not being able to travel, this is probably being more realistic as I would likely need to head straight into training with a mentor after I'm done with the studies.

I guess I can always go travelling overseas repeatedly in smaller trips when I've earnt some decent money and strengthened my physical constitution, rather than do the whole lengthy backpacker odyssey through umpteen countries which will no doubt be skimming the surface and very tiring....and plus the dollar looks like it will be very crappy for some time yet and I don't know how long I could last physically without decent sleep!

Sorry, just talking to myself.

Woe is Me: Social Pariah!

Hmmm some Christmas. On Boxing day I woke up COVERED in multiple huge red itchy welts after sleeping over at one who will not be named.....Ewwwww. (What utter IRONY... considering what gross places I've been the last few weeks that it wasn't from that!)

I know I am failing miserably at being a more extrospective blogger but sheesh my life is constantly full of some "drama" or other cropping up before too long...with my history, it seems I was just Born with this kind of "luck"! :-p

I am still covered in huge red blobs which are seriously unsightly and look incredibly contagious but the doctor assured me they aren't - thank goodness...cos I've been in contact with loads of babies and kids! I've never been covered in such HUGE red blobs while itching like crazy for so long before- luckily I have been through waaaaaaaay too much and am waaaaaaaaaay too exhausted to overreact. The real bummer is that I feel too ashamed to go out without being covered up from neck to toe (and honestly it is waaay too hot for that!) The positive is that, now I have absolutely no desire to go out and be social and am content to stay holed up in my apartment which is what would have likely been most of the case since few people are around anyway!

I'm tempted to make a serious visit to an old Chinese doctor who will no doubt send me home with baggies full of expensive raw herbs to boil up and stink out my apartment so I can be a social pariah twice over- woohoo! Although the western antihistimines were conveniently available on a public holiday and work faster than raw herbs, I am still incredibly unimpressed with their efficacy and if it wasn't for the cost anxiety and not knowing who to see over the holiday period, I'm really tempted, in typical scientist fashion, to get some Chinese herbs to compare the efficacy.

In other news I heard back a "yes you can come" if you don't mind back breaking work from the herb farm I was hoping to learn from over the summer...however in light of these red spots, the grossness and challenge of rural life attempt 1 and the fact that I have to wait for my left behind mud covered clothes (including favourite jeans) to arrive still-FINGERS CROSSED-...it's not looking too promising. Maybe I just need some nice quiet drama-free time out for the remaining Summer...to preserve what sanity I do have in time for another crazy semester.

Reminder Cliche To Self: Whatever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger *sigh*

...It was a misadventure waiting to happen...

So, I only just got back to civilisation for the 3rd or 4th time after being in woop-woop again...hence internet and mobile reception- woohoo what luxury!

In any case, today, the 2nd last day of my trip I stuffed up and it was kinda stressful cos literally I pretty well got left with just the clothes I'm standing in, and not even any clean underwear or possibility to acquire any...(okay you probably didn't need to know that however I thought it aptly hinted my stress level at the situation.)

So anyway, luckily I fly back to the comfort of home (and the guarantee of clean underwear) tomorrow night...so look out for more elaboration and maybe even pretty pics in days to come :)

I sure had an interesting time and bar today's misadventure it all went reasonably well and it was a really good **social** and learning experience for me...I think I really want to go to Europe now...but with how the dollar is and my flying issues hmmm...but I think as soon as I get back I'll try and get full time work so I can start saving...I think soon I'll be too old and tired to do another extended trip(and with at least 14 countries to cover it's gonna be more than double duration and even more challenging!)

Thank God For The Mail Run!

Just did my second stint in a tiny town, population 1500. I'm starting to realise once the population hovers around the <2000 population mark I start to get distinctly uncomfortable...this is because typically...the town also usually consists of the following: a supermarket, a limited postal service, a bottle shop/pub, a butcher, a bakery, a newsagent, and possibly a library, pharmacy, town hall, medical centre......I also have zero mobile reception and the grocery store is very small and stocks very little variety... Freaking hell, if it wasn't for the reliability of the mail needing to go in and out I would be so screwed...it took me over FIVE hours to do a 50 minute trip from point A to B, and literally, I got delivered with the mail! Coming back was almost no better- if it hadn't been for the fact that the connecting bus needs to wait for the mail I would have been screwed since the mail dude was running half an hour late.

These rants aside, more rants...argh the limitations of tiny rural places travelling solo with no car are starting to get to me, from being fleeced by rogue taxi drivers, to the fact that there is a set 2 hour daily period to use internet which is damn expensive, no postage stamps, groceries are expensive, no change to use the pay phone...basically it's tough going and you better have your legs and the ability to walk! The limitations are oppressive and you're total at the mercy of others' kindness(and therefore totally open to be exploited)...

Apart from these observations, Big Lesson No3 yesterday- never ever go bushwalking (or to desolate places) alone- no matter how adventurous and in need of excitement you might be- especially not starting out at dusk...I got so overzealous taking photos that my map of all the trails blew away and as the light was closing in I was in shite, shite, shite. Thank goodness I had the ocean on one side to guide me home- all the trails sort of merged into each other and there were no signs or people in sight! It was pretty scary...

Lessons Learnt: Part 2...

No surprising revelation here...Z is a sucker for artists!

The other day my brain just completely went AWOL and Stranger Danger Rule 101 which you get taught in Kindergarten... well it just didn't even kick in...until the very last possible moment...so I got suckered into some random stranger's car who I only just met (well to be fair he was a painter and a carver of stone and wood and shared my Bohemian interests ;) so you can see why I was so caught off guard...)

Anyhow when the car pulled out of the driveway and I saw the road which was in the middle of nowhere leading to what seemed like nowhere which recalled the 5 mens very worried faces that farewelled me it kicked in what a not very clever situation I was in so I got out (and am very thankful that I did in hindsight).

I think I was being overly open-minded and idealistic/think the best of people and I tend to resonate with the underdog so probably didn't exercise enough discretion...everyone else was thoroughly convinced that this artist, like most artists was a little...mad...okay, a raving lunatic...I guess I am also very sympathetic to weirdos...

Anyway glad that my Dumb Assness was caught in the nick of time...will be more cautious in the future...

Lessons Learnt: Part 1...

So. I'm back in relative civilisation again after spending the last week in some remote backwater where it was at least a 10 minute drive at 80-100km/hr to the nearest food store...no I didn't appreciate that or the fact that food items were so limited in range and so incredibly and atrociously expensive!

ANYWAY. It's been an interesting time for me and I've learnt a lot about myself (as well as the perils of being overly impulsive) and also recognising things I've always known (ie. I have an insatiable capacity to be incredibly lazy)

Things I have really enjoyed: meeting people from all over the world (current fascination is Sweden) and having people to play games with (ping pong, darts, table football, chess, cards... (is SPADES the best game ever or what?!), giving TCM consultations and one treatment- damn I wish I brought more needles...also became impromptu ESL teacher and life counsellor...LOL

So anyway sleep cycle completely screwed- the standard routine was sleep all day and stay awake all night...very easy cos it only gets dark really really late!! But actually cos it was so bright I couldn't sleep anyway so I am incredibly panda eyed and sleep deprived...

p.s I'm noticing I get told to "Be a Good Girl" alot even by people who only just met me...I wonder if I scream *mischief* with my vibes or something?! ;)

Zhen gets out of her Comfort Zone...Really.

So. My flights are booked.

In search of big open skies, clean air and plenty of space, on the random spur of a random moment I decided to give SERIOUS *country bumpkin* living a whirl...

So right after exams conclude, I'll be heading out like a foreign backpacker to do manual labour on a remote FARM for a few weeks (it would have been the entire summer but I have to get back for x'mas cos my bro's coming from the States...I think that may have been a blessing in disguise!).

I'm excited but also daunted and fearful. It is at times like these I hear the reassurance of my religious friends..."God will provide".

My biggest concern is the remoteness- I have no idea how to even get from the airport to the farm - apparently hitching is still common there but THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL my rational brain thinks that is a good idea.)

Without a car and not knowing how to drive, I will also need to rely on others just to do simple things like buy groceries...I guess I've put myself in a pretty uncomfortable situation of vulnerability and dependence- heavily relying on people around me to be decent and charitable people(eek!)

Food wise, I doubt I can get asian ingredients or any of my usual specifics or organics...oh yeah and I'm not sure if there is any mobile reception let alone internet...I obviously don't know anybody and it's going to force me to exercise my best social skills...no room for being anti-social Missy! *lol

Should be interesting, and the limitations will make for a good exercise in one of my biggest weaknesses...Discipline! ...especially with having to get out of bed early!

Hopefully it all works out cos otherwise I'll be Up Shit Creek and stuck cos at this peak season flights home will not only be expensive but booked out.... and I don't think there is much work to be found somewhere like that...

anyone up for Chinese massage?!!!

So at the mere thought of The Impending Adventure, I can only take comfort in that Aussie saying: "She'll be right!!!"

edit: farm just contacted me-i wasn't overestimating...just getting to the farm is sure gonna be some adventure...eeek! they ended the instructions with GOOD LUCK(!)...sounds like I'm going to be relying on the grace of God and my own resourcefulness to get there and come back safely in one piece!

Crazy Ideas with The Saturn Return!

So it's been "tomorrow" and then some, but I'm still feeling quarterlife crisis-y...

I guess it all comes down to being triggered- so last week there was a series of events which reminded me of human fragility, mortality etc and that life is short...and hence that we should ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS!

this thought sent me into a tailspin examining my current life, and how it is so rigid with no scope for fun that if I really think about it I feel very much like a caged bird...and long to be free as a butterfly!

I guess The Saturn Return also compels you to look at your life and question "what is really important to me"? and I realise I have a great desire to be with nature, in a natural environment and to feel free...

but in the city I really feel like a caged bird. Not only that but although this is the city I know best, I really don't feel like I belong. I guess it is like my friend who is moving to Melbourne- she went for the first time only last week but immediately thought "I'm home"...even though I knew nobody in my regional town and the general population were all retirees some decades my senior, I felt a lot more at home. True Sydneysiders just seem so ridiculously pretentious especially to those of us who regularly interact with people ex-Sydney...

So spur of the moment crazy idea...maybe I should fling aside some 'duty' for a bit and investigate my dream: I want to live off the land! or at least try it so maybe spend the summer on a farm fruitpicking(!!!)

Basically when I really dug deep asking what I want in life- the honest answer that came back was shamefully simple and very disturbing...a far cry from my big headed idealism of trying to help heal people via TCM...

Basically, all I really want is to have a cottage on a reasonably secluded rural or coastal property where clean air and beautiful space is abundant, and sit on the verandah in a rocking chair with a cup of tea, watching the gum trees sway in the breeze listening to the kookaburras laugh while the sun sets and my chickens and ducks peck and wander aimlessly...and maybe being able to walk to a desolate beach round the corner for a run with my tin tin dog and to squelch my bare feet in the wet sand and then come back to my organic veggie patch and fruit trees to pick some fresh produce in time for dinner. That's all- not too much to ask?!(!!) Somehow it feels wrong to have such self serving desires and to not have a purpose that benefits the wider community...

LOL when I read back though that...sheesh! what I want in life just shows how much of an Old Granny lives in this body!

Perfect Sundae(ay) ;)

WARNING: Long post! (Possibly the longest ever...yeah I always say that! No really.)

I had a great weekend :) especially today...Mother Nature put on an utterly gloooorious day at the beach^^! Today was a much needed lie in, then a great chunky beetroot&sumac dip on extra virgin olive oiled toast with chai for breakfast before G & I headed for some lazy sun!

it's called ART, Folks!
Idle fingerprints.

I also got to try out my cute new flip flops. They were a little disappointing on wet sand. They were pretty good wet mark wise on a dry floor. They were really funny on the shower floor- the pawprints acted like suction cups! This picture was on soft sand.

Gosh I love the beach...the ocean...if only my parents had discovered how self amused I keep for hours on end if they had just dumped me at the beach as a kid...sure would have saved them a lot of stress ...(j.k)...actually they finally came clean last week and told me that I was actually a very, very good kid- completely placid - that sounds right...I don't even remember talking! (Boy, do some things change, LOL)

Later in the arvo, caught up with my long lost friend N who I had the random fortune to bump into and reconnect with earlier this year. Seeing her again took me back to the golden days: a carefree pseudo artsy fartsy film and media student with all the time in the world to watch obscure films as part of our film society. It was great to be able to re-embrace one of my long lost loves which tragically got lost by the wayside of 'growing up' - it was incredibly refreshing to reconnect with cultured people who have eclectic tastes yet who still manage to be grounded and down-to-earth - not pretentious and airy fairy which typifies most of that "too cool for school" elitist wanker crowd.

In any case her place was Pure 'Kid in a Candy store' excitement for me- after being stuck in the glut of Regional Australia the last year which had only a very limited range of latest blockbuster stinkers, her one shelf was LOADED with only the good stuff...hopefully I'll be able to get through all that I borrowed over the remaining 2 weeks of freedom...I'm really looking forward to this!

Saturday was...interesting. It's amazing how 8 times out of 10 when I actually manage to get out of the house...it doesn't seem possible to have a dull day...as continues my bizarre trend, I seem to always meet interesting random people!

Saturday I accidentally met a filthy rich property mogul. I was around and about the harbour sussing out potential new digs when I happened to pass this mogul arriving for his open inspection...he invites me to come have a look apologising for the "god-awful brick wall view"...As I enter, the beautiful harbour and iconic bridge loom large in my face: looking down from the balcony I see 2 swimming pools, a private jetty and the rocks which line the shore...haha great sense of humour! This $2.2 mil 3 bedroom 2 bathroom smack bang on the waterfront penthouse is OBVIOUSLY out of my price range!

In any case we had a good chat and I learned a thing or two...I'm not sure whether it was because I seemed so unaffected by the grandeur of it all but he started reeling off some of his personal and totally obscene passive income per month figures and it then occurs to me I'm talking to the richest person I ever met in my life! So I'm not particularly reactive to the world of money, but it was pretty impressive to meet a self made successful entrepreneur with an empire as large as his! The only thing that I found slightly annoying was that he mentioned about THREE times "you need to get yourself a boyfriend"...(ie: so that I could live in said penthouse)...

In this day and age where women can be self-made and successful of their own doing, the capable feminist in me found this assumed need for dependence kinda insulting and chauvinistic!!

Anyway, on my way back, I got further distracted by the unusual environment and started snapping pics. Tired from these labours I was sitting on a rock stairwell overlooking a gully enjoying the fresh serene air and writing when suddenly these incredibly energetic and playful bundles of mischief ie: West Highland terriers (Tin Tin Dogs) decided to pay an extended visit!

Meet Lulu and Kike...how I love their Spanish names...(their owner was Columbian.)

They were so...frenetically motile I was wondering how come they were suddenly so still...and then on closer inspection, the mystery was clarified...

After that diversion, a couple more happy snaps and then met up with R who was also doing the property hunt thing. After all that walking, happily satiated myself with an authentic Malaysian Chicken Laksa :) (after spending Friday night with a bunch of white folks I was pining a bit for some asian-ness)...honestly growing up in a dual culture is SO CONFUSING!

Then I conned R to come to the driving range except that perhaps due to being in the presence of a near golfing PRO, for some strange reason I was completely unable to hit the ball! It would have been completely embarrassing if G&I didn't find it so Hilarious! (R was not impressed :P).

Friday night was spent with the uber cool totally hip city slicker urbanite architecture crowd...gosh I felt Old, and Daggy. I had no idea what they were talking about, what ultra trendy blend of sparkling wine they were drinking...it then occurred to me that M's accusations of
1. You're a Hippie!
2. You're such a Country Bumpkin!

well, relatively, they do have some basis :P

But at least we watched a cool doco which I enjoyed: My architect about the life of Louis Kahn as presented by his son Nathaniel Kahn. Being all white-peopled out I was especially proud to learn that the stately Pyramid which adorns the outside of the Louvre was designed by an Asian! (I.M Pei)

It was really interesting since architecture is an area I previously knew close to nothing about! My favourite part though was the instant recognition when Nathaniel's mother on being questioned on how she stayed single her entire life after Kahn's premature death declares "Well, I'm a romantic fatalist...and...a bit of a loner". LOL, I was..."That's me! That's me!" and G was "That's you! That's you!" ;)

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary...

Doodle excerpt from bone dry western medical science prac manual...this is me imagining being a scarecrow...

Someone's dreaming of The Country Life ;) !

hmmm...this is a typical reflection of the mesh of polarities within...

I love the rustic, cleanliness, beauty and slow simplicity of the country life yet at the same time I'm an urban chick...I need culture, refinement, informed people, geographical convenience, new ideas...

on that note I think the one photo I took today is appropriate to the theme...I call this one

City Microcosm: Stench Stacks...

actually I took it in celebration of the fact that there was a rare Blue sky! LOL

hmmm...apart from regional vs metro, on the subject of polarities:

here are some others that are always playing tug-of-war within:

Western me vs Eastern me
Practical/Rational vs Dreamy/Idealistic
Impulsive/Spontaneous vs Cautious/Deliberated
Need for Personal SPACE/freedom/independence vs Need for close, meaningful one-on-one relationships
Old vs Young
Antisocial Introspective Introvert vs Extrospective(is that a word?) genuine interest/curiosity/fascination with other people and capacity to be a social butterfly(subject to energy levels and right mood LOL)

At least I've worked out the geographical conflict bit...
Keep two abodes!!:-D
With the cost of property here...hmmm just need to GET RICH to be able to make it a reality...Working on it...slowly! lol
