Thank God...I almost thought I'd lose her permanently to the lure of their high standard, refined, cultured, genuine, intellectual and honesty valuing, nice-to-introverts dominant society for good (!)
Strangely all the stray birds are flying home for a visit...last week M was back from Asia, today my friend from Germany, and in the coming week Toyboy from Africa...yay! It's so nice to have familiar faces and actual FRIENDS back in my actual geography and timezone :)

Isn't it a bit selfish to praise your friend is back from Germany ?
JJ yeah you'd think so...these are not transient friends you meet while travelling! My REAL friends actually are very mobile...I really think it reflects that people like me are multicultured people of the world, as opposed to monocultured bogans, lol.
E, I don't think expressing relief to have someone back is selfish at all...unless they WANTED to stay permanently and came back against their will...
I was reflecting and I noticed since I grew up all my friends are multicultured and only also have similarly multicultured friends...
66% of my friends live permanently overseas and that includes at least 50% of my closest ones many of whom have relocated from here but retain oz citizenship.
Hey it was great to catch up with you too, and big effort coming into town from your cave :) just flew back from chengdu..an awesome place to spend the long weekend
