OMG Do I stink of DOG POO?!!!!

Not sure if it was purely psychological but I almost thought I caught a whiff of it on me after I got swamped by dogs!!! 3 cocker spaniels and 1 golden lab were jumping all over me in the park! As just a wee thing this was intimidating and scary to say the least and seriously they got so comfy that the cocker spaniel just sat its BUTT on me and ...boy oh boy dogs are soooo affectionate no wonder I turned into a cat girl!!!

Totally no space/boundary respect whatsoever lol! Slurp lick kiss drool...arghhhhhh!

Anyway the owner(s) were quite amused...and we got into a nice looooong chat.

Anyway although it did totally alarm the germaphobe in me and as soon as I came home dumped EVERYTHING in the wash and took a much needed shower(never felt filthier)...But I comforted myself in the belief that...animals always know who the *cool* people are ;) ;)

Anyway it was my fun *random stranger* and *interesting conversation* for the day :)

Stranger things have happened...LOL

I was sitting on my couch having a lazy leisurely afternoon working through the most recent season of MAD MEN when I heard these terrible bloodcurdling screams of torment..."what on earth?" I thought...

so I peeked through the shutters outside and saw three ducks physically fighting!! Two were jumping on and (what looked to me) pecking another half to death on it's neck! "oh no!" was my immediate thought and I went off to find a broom to help rescue the victim...

But when I came back...I saw one chase the other one out under the fence...DUH so naive...lol welcome to Duck Mating Season...IN MY GARDEN!

So anyway, as a total sucker for ducks I decided to treat the newlyweds...and gave them a water bath and some corn crackers...I think they think my place is some kind of five star resort now...Anyway it was pretty fun to play with them...

After their little "play" both of them were shaking and sitting...I'm not sure whether I should expect to find little duck eggs somewhere in my garden or not.

Anyway, it was a totally unexpected afternoon and quite interesting- I felt a little like David Attenborough, lol.

What is a Squeam?

Okay according to some dodgy online dictionary, a squeam is a "qualm".

But according to ME a squeam is my made up word and it is the X between a squeal and a scream!

So anyway I'm gonna come clean...with my manly ego... I had to shame myself in public, lol...

Today I SQUEAMED!...when I bumped into a spider's web above my head while gardening and the rather pretty spider with a round body was on my head and then went on my hand when I swiped it off...to God knows where...but I took off my jacket shook it around and hung it up just in case...

So yeah...Today I squeamed. And I did think a bit indignantly...blergh spiders- they're for MEN to deal with!! :P

*lol

And then there were...three :-p

So I went to check up on my favourite duck family this arvo...

it was terribly disconcerting to see the family of 10 just 2 days ago had diminished to 5(!!)...I saw 2 parents, 3 chicks and 2 chick corpses :-p

What have I learnt? Ducks aren't exactly the best parents...especially the fathers- they just kinda sit off by themselves and the mother can't cope with so many all by herself! Just another case where the animal world reflects human life...don't have too many babies or you can't give them decent quality of care!

I knew I should have just shovelled up all 8 ducklings and stuck them in a safe box until they were big enough to not be kookaburra meat! :-..(

Apparently this is what you call a Nice Butt...

LOL...this is my farmer's Cow parading in a show...took out some kind of champion. I just thought it was hilarious the pictures taken from a farmer's perspective...at no time did any pictures show a FACE or HEAD which is the thing I would be interested in! To be honest I'm not interested in looking at cowbutts!!!

Obviously, I'm not a farmer!

Apart from that here's another funny pic which I spied today...funny, cos you would NEVER see such a *cute!* sign like this in the city...

Magical Walk Around The Block

This is why I love living in nature...I walked around my street - it went something like this...

I walked to the water and spied a daddy and mummy duck and EIGHT ducklings- strangely as soon as I came they were really curious&bold and came right to my feet with one duckling even nibbling my toe! (That's a first, lol)

And then I walked out on the pier and saw a big fish jump right out of the water!

And then lots of pet guard dogs barked at me from behind fences.

And I stopped to pick lavender.

And admire people's nice gardens.

As I was almost home with the refreshing oxygen dense breeze blowing through my head a swoop of peach faced galahs came over me.

It's pretty cool living in nature :)

Next time I should document a walk around the block in pictures!!!

Well I AM a Water Girl after all ;)

I saw WATER FOR ELEPHANTS tonight...and LIKED...lol I think, alas...in my old age...I'm getting mushier and more sentimental. I especially really have a heart for animals these days...(but not dogs, I am so getting over my love affair with dogs- they seriously don't chain them up in this area and they are terrifying monsters!)

In any case another interesting development is that I am SO OVER my Venus in Aquarius obsession...I'm even over fire signs...yup I think this girl has grown up and out of OPPOSITES ATTRACT. These days I finally see my fellow water signs for the absolutely thoughtful, darling, kind, giving, compassionate, sensitive and caring, intuitive and understanding beings that they are...FINALLY I am in touch with what traditional astrological wisdom has always said!

I'm going to get THE CAT tomorrow...any name suggestions? LOL, some times love really is at first sight...I just need that cat!

The Jehovah's Witness that knocked on my door came AGAIN this time showing up with reinforcements...luckily it is easy for me to be blunt...I just said "LOOK I REALLY DON'T CARE"....lol and I didn't even feel a tad rude or guilty about it, I love it, I love my aspie tendencies :)

Is it Sad to buy yourself Soft Toys?

LOL I saw this on the weekend and maybe cos my nickname is "Cat" I don't know I really liked it...and there is something kooky-quirky about this cat...maybe cos it is a doorstop and not really a soft toy per se...So anyway I managed to walk out the store without it but I'm thinking it would be right at home on my sofa...

But
1. It is sad to buy yourself soft toys?
2. Are you ever too old to justify buying yourself a soft toy?

LOL...I think I want...need it. For whatever reason, I really like Cats at the moment(ironically I am actually allergic to them!) Maybe it is the first stage of my b'day twin's foresight..."you're going to turn into a crazy cat lady!" heheheheh

Can Ducks Smell?

So anyway lately I have been visiting my old town....whadda...SANCTUARY!

I'm tempted to just pack in all ambitions and go back there and get a job as a check out chick just for the peace and quiet space and ease of breathing and constant...stress free JOY.

Everybody needs a Sanctuary. I have one or a few in the city and one or a few out of the city, but not sure if that is enough, if I had my way the only place I would exist would always be a sanctuary.

In any case in my one of the ones out of the city...I get visited by this very specific husband and wife duck couple...

they are so good to drop by and say "Hi!"when I'm in town no matter what time or place that I wondered "Can Ducks Smell?" As in, are they able to discern my unique smell and know it's me in town and hence come to visit?

My friend tells me "Sure they can smell they have nostrils on their bill!" Whaddaya know! I have some Good Duck Friends!!-wow, that just makes my day! LOL

In other daily trivia I just had to post a pic of this fantastic card

sent to me by my blogger friend HO....Gosh I love this card...especially the little cupcake in the lollypop if you look carefully. I showed my mum and she sighed with exasperation and just said "just like a little kid!" LOL, HO you are included...she thinks you are a child too...except I defended you that you have 3 rugrats, lol.

In any case I also thought the sticker was a good call...

p.s if you were interested, I don't eat duck...every duck is my friend...I LOVE DUCKS!!!

My kindred spirit...in a dog :)

Thank God for Animals...

Charming good looks courtesy of being half dingo...

Furrowed brows...hallmark of the true intellectual, lol.

Who knew that 10 year old dogs were as cute as puppies?!

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Well I like pups...

But I can't have one. So I got one of all of these...lol impulse buy- I couldn't not take them home with me after I spied them walking in the grocery store...
I'm glad I have young nieces and nephews-makes for a great alibi to cover for the child in me-lol!
Anyway I can be an adult in the afternoon with a very civilised afternoon tea- I'm such a dero-how quaint! Adulthood is overrated, anyway.

She who wears a Scowl on her face...Part 2.

AND THERE EVEN HAD TO BE A PART 2?? :-P

geez, no wonder I was so keen to banish myself to some remote paradise and be a hermit since a tender age...

This is what happened last night...

I was sitting at home watching the Amazing Race when I heard a key turning in my door-that's strange I thought I went and looked in my peephole and there was some random lout trying all my neighbours doors as well! Not only that but he came back and tried my door again! I was standing on the other side of the door just watching- as usual I couldn't even speak, I couldn't believe how BRAZEN the guy was, to try while people are at home! In any case, I was thoroughly creeped out and didn't sleep well all night.

Apart from that yesterday, I also discovered a bit of an animal activist I didn't even realise I had in me except I found myself confronting a pet shop person about the abominable state of the animals in her shop...she was pretty pissed off...in TOTAL DENIAL maintaining her animals are healthy...geez do you really think it takes a vet to see that animals aren't in great condition??!!!

In any case I felt so angry...yet powerless...it was horrible. Later I saw one of the usual bums on the street asking for money for a bed for the night. I thought to myself seeing as I cared enough to speak out for the animals surely I should care about the human being too? No was the sad reply in my head...children and animals are innocent but adult humans rarely are...

in any case after a particularly bad week in the city, I am just thoroughly disgusted with the state of humanity here...I guess that is why I will devote 10 hours of this weekend to meditation...cos I think I NEED IT!!! Definitely, I am turning into a misanthrope. Hopefully I will find some fellow evolved spiritual types that can give me back some faith in fellow human beings in this part of the world.

In any case today I am playing it safe...not even going to exit my door, that way I have less chance to have a reason to get pissed off!!!

Hello Baby!

Meet Tofu :)

Not MY dog exactly, but kind of in a six degrees of separation, defacto kind of way, haha...

It's nice to dream...

I want a Mini Snoopy!

Is this the cutey-est dog you have ever seen or WHAT?

I WANT ONE!

p.s SHAU BAI means "little white"- apparently it is an incredibly generic asian dog's name...

p.p.s Not sure how easy it is to get this breed "coton de tulear" esp down here...

I see coloured lights.

So, just like is becoming the norm for Friday night :p Grandma was in bed by 7pm, but this time so exhausted actually passed out for the last couple hours...and pretty much skipped dinner again-naughty!

The most interesting thing for the day was that I woke up completely drained and exhausted Friday morning with a huge headache on the same side that my last patient had had (before I had "treated" it)....ergh, the Empathic Headache. Actually it was more like a migraine(which was how the patient had put it)...so when I eventually dragged myself to class my friend very kindly gave me a head massage...WOW. I have never had a head massage before. The strangest part was that every time her hands moved over my eyes I saw coloured lights typically a bright grassy green. There was also a blue and purple light on other occasions. Interesting. Usually I only see coloured lights (turquoise green mostly and a splash of purple or pink on rare occasion) after a session of yoga or something. And in any case I only started seeing lights since being attuned to reiki. So that was kinda cool...I guess this friend also has very strong Healing Vibes :)

I need to work out some better protection for next time I think. Another friend concurred my experience that everytime she treats people "with intent" she always knows they got better cos she ends up with their shoulder, or tummy pain etc the next day. I did notice I had a headache on the same side on the same day after but was surprised when I had the full blown migraine on the same side as the patient had had the next day.

Other thing on my mind was that I miss having an animal...this is my little cutie from before(my first ever pet besides fish!) :

just I can barely even manage myself with this schedule let alone look after an animal. I guess at this particular time I don't feel like I can really relate to people...I think it's kinda like that funny movie Ghost World where he says:

"You can't relate to other people, so you fill your life with stuff... I'm just like all these other collector losers. "

I have to admit I do recognise lots of myself in Enid and I could see myself getting along well with a Seymour. (Maybe it's only the "abnormal" people who truly pique my interest enough for me to want to know them- I wonder why haha)

I think on a just meet acquaintance level, getting along with people for me is pretty breezy but to find people I truly connect with past that and actually enjoy their company repeatedly, well that's pretty rare. I guess at my core I'm innately antisocial- it's not that the skills are completely lacking, it's more like being sociable seems like too much effort relative to pay off unless I'm "in the mood". Like my mum reminded me "remember you used to have a big picture of the HERMIT tarot card stuck on your bedroom wall?"

I guess since about forever on both tangible and spiritual levels I never exactly fit in with the norm for my age. So I guess I'm feeling decidedly antisocial...but maybe that's just cos I probably overdid it with too much contact with people I don't resonate with this week thus feeling more aware of that normal gap that exists between people but which I don't feel so much with animals, or even more so in Nature.

LOL, on the last trivial recount of the day...my young friend actually started calling me "Grandma" (I guess I asked for it when I keep using it all the time LOL)...he msged me "hey grandma, I'm at the pub across the road, come join me!"

I didn't reply.

I guess it's allowed for me to call me Grandma but a sore point if a young guy does...*hmph!

Miscellaneous Tuesday

Had a great afternoon in the clinic but ended up smelling offensively like a Pothead version of the Dero I already am ;) It was so fascinating to see people so unaware of their own bodies and totally in denial that traumatic events in their life had some causative effect in their symptomatic manifestation LOL - men are usually the culprits for this- too "tough" to acknowledge their emotions LOL

Also met up with a cool international visitor :) Geez I loooooove people from overseas...if only I could have one every week like I have for the past two- Life would be Sweet! In any case it was so nice to have a real person I could just talk about everything with that I just have an "understanding" with...really made my day being able to do that! :)

Kind of exciting...met a fellow astrology head in one of my classmates-he has actually studied some asian variation of it all properly and has charged professionally for his services...I gave him my birth details and he's going to reveal all tomorrow (ooh how exciting!) Basically I am curious to know about temperament, compatibility...but I'm a bit anxious about him telling me anything predictive...in any case I am curious to see how it correlates with western...I was telling my friend briefly about her character based on her birthdate numerology and she said a Korean had told her exactly the same thing albeit using a different system- hence my curiosity to investigate the two was piqued!

On another note- I got a little harrassed again when it inadvertently came out that I got to hang out with "Mr X Factor" for a day- sheesh! A little sick of the protracted obsession...expecting 2 more days of this then Get over it Ladies!!! I did realise though that I would make an AWESOME friend for a famous person...even though there could be good money made to divulge and trade confidential information I am so loyal and too ethical...any famous person is lucky to have me as their friend...not that anybody's offering :p LOL
And finally in "Miscellaneous Tuesday" I have a special real life picture for my Animal Loving Matey Shannanigans. Here is an echidna my aunt and uncle found under their car on their regional acreage. He didn't get bowled over by the car actually- his snout is bleeding from digging in the bitumen!!! In case I'm amazed his spikes didn't pop their car tyres!!! (BTW if you ever come visit I will throw in a free trip to their property where echidnas and koalas and snakes and wallabies do roam free-whether you see these shy creatures or not is another story though! For plant heads...yeah their garden is pretty cool too ;)

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

Of all the people I have asked this question, few have been able to answer...I don't see what's so hard about it...maybe some people get so caught up in the real world it stunts their imaginations ;)

If you have an idea though, about what animal is MOST LIKE YOU, it would interest me ever so much to know!

I am by far and away most like a BUTTERFLY :-)

I find it an amusing coincidence that of all people I know, it was my ex who used to run around with a big net and catch butterflies as a little boy...perhaps by knowing a person's childhood history we can determine who is unsuitable for us LOL!

I have never caught a butterfly by the way...I just feel that trapping them in nets is a violation of their very existence...kind of like birds in cages...

What is it...Exactly?

Okay testament to my impeccable ;) drawing skills...lucky for you I'm not going to make you try and guess what above is...because honestly you'd be here till the writing on your tombstone has long faded!

Above is...a very minimalistic version of a visitor who dropped into my bathroom a couple of days ago unannounced. A HUUUUUGE grasshoppy/cricket thing! When I first saw him I screamed...and screamed again and debated whether I was hopeless enough to ask if my neighbour could come remove him for me...but the Ego firmly said "No"...I don't need a man! LOL. 4 days later and I've grown accustomed to Mr Grasshopper and it's like we're old mates...

This morning he was hiding in...the toilet roll which is how the "picture" above came about. I've realised Mr Grasshopper is good at hiding but those telltale super long antennae always give him away!
In any case I see Doom in store for Mr Grasshopper when my mother comes round tomorrow...she's a real terminator! I have tried to rescue my long antennaed friend however with his jittery nature he kept hopping away and making me scream more. I then tried to Dyson him into the vacuum cleaner but alas a Dyson is no match for his sticky feet...

I've never had a Grasshopper thing come into my house before ever...and I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to get them out in a humane way...if you have any ideas please let me know cos Mr Grasshopper's clock is definitely ticking!
