I don't know. I like the expression "Hope of Israel" personally. And there's some scripture goes "Blessed is the man . . . whose hope the Lord is." According to my search it is Jer. 17:7. But I don't know - maybe it is written elsewhere, too. Or maybe your version reads differently. Never ceases to amaze me how different translations of scripture read differently. It shouldn't amaze me. After all, I'm a linguist.
