Most people are superficial visually, they need things to look good. I can be like that but cos I don't really pay much attention to people's faces cos I'm usually lost in my own thoughts, it's not really significant.
I am actually very bad with faces- I can rarely remember people by faces, or names either for that matter...
The strange thing that stands out most to me and is most distinctive about a person is a VOICE. I am totally, shamefully superficial in that there are nice people out there who I just can't stand and cannot LIKE cos their voice is horribly grating! There are other people who have very pretty voices...Dina is a stand out for me :)
I just remembered that is one of my strange quirks. Even with people I know, it is hard for me to recall their faces but their voices I can summon into my head straight away...
is there anybody else like me who is audio dominant rather than visual dominant? Are there any other interesting ways in which you are superficial and quick to judge whether or not you like a person...my other thing would probably be dress sense...I can't stand tacky dressers or some of the weird fads like tights under hotpants in the middle of Winter...I guess I immediately think "how idiotic!"and think these people must be lacking upstairs...
a funny thing...I got invited to join an elitist society. haha I think this is the first time in a looong time! I'm still thinking about it. I kind of have a love-hate relationship with the concept of exclusivity...maybe I will join if I think there is real potential of benefit to me some how.

Im with you, I hate tacky/dirty dressers. Like the stuff you would see at peopleofwalmart.com
Skinny jeans are the devil.
But I dont usually judge based on looks, but on immediate reactions to things. I get to deal with a lot of first impressions because of my job, and I can always tell if I like someone right away with how they respond to my "hi!". You would be surprised (or not) how many people just flat out ignore you.
Annoying voices bug me too but ooohh, I hate slow and stupid. Not in the mentally challenged way, but the airhead kind of way. There is no excuse for being uneducated.
Ok I am done taking over your comments
'always'
hotpants? what's that?
not audio-dominant, sorry.
Definitely can be superficial (but at least I'm honest enough to admit it).
But that said, I also like everybody. (mostly. )
Oh, I don't like it when people come across as stupid (are stupid). And it's up to me to decide whether they are or not. But I can't stand stupidity.
The other day my husband said something that sounded idiotic (I mean really dumb. and usually he doesn't say stupid things. well sometimes he does - but that's not the point). He was talking about measuring cracks in a windshield and where to measure and what the 'rule' he was reading about meant. And he had some question about it (the rule) and it sounded completely idiotic.
We actually got in a fight over it.
Finally, after 15 minutes of being mad at each other (me at him for being stupid and him at me for assuming he was stupid), I figured out what he was asking/saying. It still was stupid. But made a TINY bit more sense once I understood what he was saying.
He was talking about 3 dimensions and I was thinking in 2 dimensions (b/c - hello - it's a WINDSHIELD). Yes - technically 3 dimensional, but come on - it's like a piece of paper.
Anyway.
so annoying.
But I hate stupidity.
hey, i wasn't bagging out walmart types I was bagging out people who have money and still put together tacky outfits!!!
do you mean you like skinny jeans or you don't like them? I don't really like them but they are so popular here that I kinda got used to seeing them.
haha, if you said Hi in an overenthusiastic in my face way I would probably ignore you too...we can't help it it's like inbred into city folk- be suspicious of everybody who appears too friendly cos they probably have ulterior motives- city people AREN'T nice!
yeah I hate slow and stupid too- but alas we can't all be born smart and quickwitted- everybody has different strengths and weaknesses...
yeah there is- means they aren't interested- you talk to me too much of certain topics and suddenly my ears close over...there are certain things I just DON'T wanna know!
you are welcome to take over my comments...until you can find time to write properly!!!
HO, yeah I hear you...you're a Libra. I have loads of planets in libra- we can't help not admiring beauty...
you don't know hotpants? you ever heard of "Kylie"- well there you go something to research...
yeah stupidity...that seems to be the common theme we all agree on here...
haha that sure sounds like a husband wife fight if ever I heard one...I have learned just to not cross a male over his car...
but 2D-3D yeah our brains just are wired differently- that's where all the misunderstanding comes in...
I'm the same with faces, I don't recognise them at all! The amount of people I've offended over the years by not recognising them.....
I wonder if you all would think my outfits were tacky. i dunno.
but it would be interesting to find out some day (not planning on finding this out)
I shop at Walmart (and am not embarrassed about it) - and we also love going to the second-hand store (D.I. .. it's the Utah Salvation Army I guess). but it's Wonderful. Lotsa stuff (clothes) great quality, for very cheap.
And then I get clothes from my dear old grandmother (whom I adore). She gives me sweats and things that are too big for me really. Some are cute - and some are "grandma"y
But you know what? I don't care. They are comfortable and decent and modest and clean. So who cares.
I wear my sweats with pride.
tight jeans.. I don't do those. I'm not going to let my Daughter do those, either ! ;D
maybe when she's 19 and out of the house.

Shannon - I like how you judge how people respond to your hello. That's great. Good test.
Too bad msC would possibly flunk it.
hahhahah
;P
Well Shan is a Yang water so I doubt I'd flunk it cos I'd respond positively to her "vibe"...yeah these days I am totally weird like that- it's pretty spot on too!!!
HO, good on you- I totally respect people who are practical and dress for comfort rather than being victims of fashion...lol how many of my chick acquaintances have gotten themselves in very amusing situations cos of this...
and I think people who are conscientious, creative and resourceful enough to trawl through op shops and put together something cool are really cool too...just I'm not one of them.
I agree...modesty- If I ever have a daughter, tight jeans are okay but definitely no miniskirts...but alas, what happens if she takes up netball...eh you can't win them all...lol
Everyone wears skinny jeans here too and they should burn! (The jeans not the people...)
They are just hideous! Anyway, Im one to talk, I go out in my joggers and hoodie and ball cap most days
Oh and you misread me...My HI is definitely not enthusiastic lol
Maybe I should have left out the exclamation point? Yeah just a normal customer service "hi"
oh and HO I didnt mean people who wear clothes from walmart (I have some) I meant what people wear TO walmart...just check out the websit I mentioned in my first post and you will understand
and MsC, being uninterested is still different than being uneducated
Ian, yeah i've learnt it can be offensive to say "sorry, have i met you?" it's better to just wait till they remind you that you have met before and how...
oh and shan i did do ball caps but stopped young cos my pixie ear tips burn but i've been 80% hoodies and jeans and sneakers or flip flops since i told you i went into that phase for ages now...they desperately need a wash...i got a haircut friday and after she "ironed(!?)and blew dried and styled it I ended up looking like a freaking LAWYER! ewww...that's what happens when you answer "whatever you think" and "Shorter" when they ask how would you like your hair cut? anyway i like the novelty of 6 monthly surprise...thank goodness after i slept on the hair and woke up it looks normal and messy and reasonably ME again...
how long is your hair?
Mine is really long and I have been contemplating a cut...maybe even shaving my head at the cancer benefit. All my coworkers were horrified when I brought it up but Steve was the only one who said "go for it!" That's why I love the guy
too long...still! GO FOR IT!!! ;)
