Are there any Life Path number 22s out there?

I'm starting to feel like a super duper alien...and as a rare life path number 11, apparently the only major compatibility I have with anybody is if they are a very rare 22...

I am just yet to meet one....but possibly one of you blogger friends might be one?

In any case sometimes I think being a supercharged master number is a bit of a burden- I want someone to moan and whine to that will understand...

p.s I got a nifty little cheap compact that is not such an anxiety to take travelling...Panasonic Lumix FS4. For how cheap it is, I'm pretty happy- and as my first tiny baby camera ever, boy am I relieved about the portability and snapability!! In any case, that makes 4 to my camera family...Welcome, Fred!

Love from Buddy(Canon Rebel SLR), Neo(Canon G3) and Horace(Ailing Canon 450D DSLR).

You will notice Fred is the first diversion from the Canon family...although Canon do make good snappy cams, I've had so many issues with Horace from the word GO, I decided to take my business elsewhere for a spin...

Mayhem, Chaos, Drama!

...wow, there actually IS none...now that's different...it's like I almost don't know what to do with myself! ;)

What luxury...I like it!!! :-D

Random aside...I'm desperately desiring a macro lens...but they are soooo expensive! Tempted to get and try a thingamejig called a close up filter...any thoughts? I guess I'll try and stick my old non digital 75-300mm lens on today and see if I can get any decent close up shots first...

edit: oops except for accidentally leaving the monochrome on sepia I actually liked all the shots I took in the whole 10 minutes of spare time I got for the entire day...I particularly like this one- I think it'd make a cute card! and yep, THANK GOD for the big lens...in the city a wide lens is pretty useless cos everything is just so damn ugly!

This Girl Hates Shopping.

I'm just not a fan of malls with their noisy crowds, lack of ventilation, blatant hard core consumerism, pushy sales people and glaring bright lights. If I have to like "shopping" I very much prefer the quaint little street with one off non generic stores with individually hand-made high quality items...local or sourced from specialty areas of the world.

Ironically, in my "previous life" hubby used to drag me to the mall at every opportunity- I have no idea how some people can like just walking around looking at "stuff"! I feel that anybody who feels such a need to go shopping so much must be trying to fill some gaping void or soothe some emotional ailment LOL, I guess that's why they call it "Shopping Therapy"...each to his own I guess. I personally prefer "Beach or Nature Therapy" and don't really get people who do "Gym Junkie Therapy"...these people should donate some of their spare energy to ME!!!

So I've been putting this "shopping" business off for about a month (bar the necessary food stuffs etc). But obviously, I'm still home...procrastinating. Basically I accidentally melted my toaster cord so need to get a new toaster...my electric toothbrush is at the end of it's life and only goes "Zzz" in fits and bursts, I need to get my jade bracelet restrung, and I need to buy some heavy medical books (Expensive) and of course...lots of food. ( I don't mind that last part ;)

Blergh, this being my first weekend I don't have to stress on some pressing limiting factor for a while I just want to stay curled up watching Mysterious Cities of Gold all day...but if I did that I'd fall behind even more...grr I hate this need for Continual Discipline issue.

In any case I shouldn't complain...I remember being in a town which didn't even have a bookstore so I should be happy for the convenience factor of malls. And in any case I only just noticed these crazy pyjamas from Asia I'm wearing have my animal symbol of a butterfly, along with a timely reminder :)

And another pic while I'm at it...calibration issue with 450D still unresolved...this test pic has been corrected with Photoshop obviously otherwise it wouldn't be this clear! :p

Down By The River

Here are some rare candid pics taken down by the river near the farm. I like these because they are a rare capture of me at my most natural "in my element"...within nature, "hanging" with the boys, being anti-social and bonding with Horace :)

Unfortunately still haven't had time to look into resolving the annoying blurry factor- those thinking to purchase a Canon 450D Be Warned!!! Great clarity on preview screen but once you upload...yikes!! Be prepared to have to Photoshop if you want nice clear pics!! I think it's probably just a calibration problem with my batch but still....a terrible experience!

The weather has really cooled lately - that or these herbs are making me able to feel cold! In any case I like it :)

On another note, I don't know WHERE I HAVE BEEN for awhile. I just sat down and wrote my list of priorities and bar the last week or so I realise all the things I have been putting all my time and effort into...they don't even feature make it into my succinct list!! *sheesh* I highly recommend writing a priorities list to refer to so you don't end up spending so much of your life off track!!!

More prolific on Cloudy Days: Miscellaneous Ramblings

I'm not sure what it is with overcast weather but I always feel like writing alot in this kind of weather - I guess it's like how some people get very productive creatively when they listen to certain types of music...

I was hoping to watch The City of Lost Children or John Safran vs God cos I've had them sitting around the last 6 months and I really should return them to my friend but I guess for me to sit down continously watching something is always a challenge to stay still cos watching a screen is such a passive exercise. At least with writing, my hyperactive brain gets a chance to run off the leash!

In any case I'm listening to Birthday (can't ever get sick of this song!!)...before I was slightly more interesting listening to Cut Copy's IN GHOST COLOURS which is a pretty enjoyable electropop album...don't have much of this kind of music in my collection but I can understand why I like it...it is very similar to New Order I think- just a more modern version. I don't know if this is a totally off presumption cos I'm not quite the fan but I suspect it is a little like Daft Punk too.

Random snippets as follows...

Random Musing 1 : Canon Marketing
I was looking through all the contents (as you do) when you have a new electronic purchase. And I saw two advertising booklets Canon had in the box- one was to promote why you need one of their IS (Image Stabilizer) lenses and the other one was on promoting why their Macro lenses are so good(apparently it is due to their USM (Ultra Sonic Motor) and hence super quiet lenses. They had this cutesy cartoon picture of a grasshopper in a flower showing that if you don't have a USM lens when you click the grasshopper will get disturbed and hop away wrecking your photo, however with a USM lens it will go on sleeping quietly enabling you to get your perfect macro shot...Cute.

I couldn't help but think I'm just like the grasshopper: whenever I get put on the spot and taken offguard like that I freak out and the adrenalin kicks in so that I run run run even before my brain verified that there was any real threat of danger in the first place...I think I've missed out on some unique opportunities by being such a hypersensitive scaredy anti-confrontational cat...I wish I wasn't so wired! But I don't think it's pathology of psychology so much...I think it's to do with a leaning towards hyperthyroidism...hence also why I can eat bucketloads of fatty junkfood and crap and not put on a scrap of flesh...luckily though I know when to stop cos the nauseous and ill feeling kicks in.

Random Musing 2: Trust your 'Irrational' instincts
I was reading how with the current astrological influence...we are going through a renaissance of the time that gave birth to the whole Hippie Revolution...and how anything that represents stability will be negatively effected eg financial institutions, home ownership etc...

This took me back to the time I ended up part-purchasing a place that I didn't feel was "right" from the start however by all practical means- location, value, investment wise etc it was pretty good.

In any case for the 2 years or so I lived there I got soooo sick and had a pretty bad run of luck. Being immobilised for so long after an accident with nothing but spare time on my hands got me considering everything under the sun and I looked into the Feng Shui of the place... which only served to confirm my suspicions...it finally reached a point I got so sick we moved to a lovely good vibes little villa in a gorgeous town...and after that my improvement and healing was speedy. Based on the luck that befell the several tenants who have lived there since I can say it was not just me!

So from that, I guess the moral of the story is Don't ever ignore those "irrational" gut instincts! If your body has some reaction loud and clear to something, chances are it knows better than any 'Mind Rationalisation' any day!!!

Pulling an all nighter

I haven't done an all nighter in a while- it's kind of exciting.
Surprisingly it's not hard for me to stay awake and be able to think through the wee hours- in any case I love the quiet and the dark - if practicality allowed, I wouldn't mind being a serious Night Owl.
Anyway I got distracted when taking a break...what the hell is it you ask?

It's one of my favourite inanimate objects at the moment- one of my Himalayan salt lamps flickering but it looks cool weird and kinda ethereal cos of the strange setting. Haven't read the manual yet so I was just trying different settings which produced remarkably different pictures- Gosh I love SLRs! and its such a luxury having to use an eyefinder again!! LOL. It's sad that I'm still confined to these four walls with nothing inspiring to take a photo of...thankfully I'll be in spectacular and refreshing landscape in just over 2 weeks :) Can't wait to inhale some of that world famous clean air ;)

Back to work Z!

Mind Reader!

I was crumpled up in a heap-impromptu style- on my yoga mat- from sheer exhaustion (day in day out night in night out intensive study, prolonged stress and lack of rest over a long period of time is remarkably and amazingly disproportionately Qi sapping!)

So I lay like this in my lazy cocoon for approximately 30 minutes until I got interrupted by a random message from a pretty random person - just two words:

KEEP GOING!

hehe I couldn't help but grin (and wonder)...Some people are bloody Mind Readers!

I like intuitive water types :) Too bad I barely know any.

For the record, 5 more days til Liberation...

But ONLY 2.5 more days till I pick up my spanking new DSLR(Canon 450D/Rebel XSI!!!) :-)

p.s I've decided to call this camera "Horace" (don't ask me why it just randomly came to me) so soon there will be 3 to my camera family :) affectionately known as Buddy, Neo and Horace respectively :-)

A Meditation: Exotic Symbolism No.1

So...I finally got to test my every hour you sleep BEFORE midnight is worth like...double! theory.

By 8pm I was completely zonked- three hours later- wow I feel GREAT! It is really true- I feel like I've slept 8 hours or something- I actually feel refreshed :) But now my sleeping patterns are really, really screwed...

But maybe this will work once semester restarts. Because my brain definitely needs that reprieve before it can process even more information from the day...and I remember my high school biology teacher saying that your brain is actually most efficient (at least for retaining information and study purposes) around 11pm :)

This evening being so exhausted I also got to test my don't cook just eat a sandwich for dinner thing...and, I think it's definitely gonna stay! It's not that bad actually- I saved SO MUCH TIME and it tasted pretty good to me. I had good quality grain toast with super duper quality extra virgin olive oil with fresh organic baby spinach and lashing of sea salt on one slice and an awesome beetroot and sumac relish I got from an upmarket deli with the olive oil on the other.

Then I had some fresh squeezed orange juice and a tub of mango and passionfruit probiotic yoghurt LOL- felt so healthy- actually felt really good- I think my body really needed the cleanse (you inspired me S! yes you :) cos I've been so exhausted lately from toxin overload courtesy of chainsmoking neighbour...stressed city people are The Pits!

In any case, further developments from the day with many thanks to Scott for helping resolve my indecisiveness...there will be an exciting new addition to the family come Christmas!!! Okay, so my niece or nephew arrives September but I was actually referring to My Camera Family LOL.

My 'Family' consists of the long-ago retired too expensive to use 'Buddy'(film), 'Neo'(My Very Ill Digital Prosumer)...what will I call Camera No3(a DSLR equivalent of Buddy)?!! LOL several months to think about it- so can't wait to be able to take satisfying shots again!

Anyhow...last random thing...My Ceramic Coaster project inspired by Caroline and the work of Masaru Emoto and Himalayan salt lamps...unfortunately it has to be canned...cos the clay studio in the community centre isn't making money and has stopped opening its doors...

But they have all the preordered lumps of clay and the working kiln just sitting there and everything!!! It did cross my mind to take a page out of my lawyer-soon-to-be-barrister cousin's book and take it up with the art director on behalf of all the typically low income and student types like myself...but then I thought with semester restarting I should save my energy and just let it be...need to learn to refrain from scattering my energies all over the place and focus ...but in any case my mum was really enthused over the project so helped me select and write up a bunch of pretty characters for my personal coaster set...I don't know Chinese so to me it's just exotic symbolism to look at but I chose all the characters based on qualities or attributes I think I need more of in my life ;)

It's the character for HUMILITY - I felt I needed to remember this especially in light of getting *a bit of a big head* from being told "you're a really 'interesting' person" several times this week - haha.
