Maybe this is just our weird thing. My birthday twin made an interesting observation(interesting cos probably nobody else agrees but me)...that after a while if you know people too long, they get too comfortable with you, and end up telling you too much, things that were TMI(Too Much Information) and you didn't want or need to know in the first place...
I guess that's why we like to keep most people at arm's length...
It's just more comfortable that way.

Yeah, but once you get to know someone for a long time, it's refreshing to talk about things you can't discuss with a casual acquaintance. You know, topics of discussion you can voice your opinion and not be judged (or at least you shouldn't if you are truly friends) b/c they understand you and where you're coming from. They may not agree but that's ok. To only know the parts that are comfortable isn't the whole of that person. I personally think you are losing out when you keep people at a distance. What happens if you allow yourself to get close and let people in?
