I read the article and I can understand why she likes the place. I think it's because she seems to have the classic suburban mindset. Fine if you do, but I don't. And I noticed that one commenter mentioned over-regulation. That's an impression I've always had of Australia. Too much state control. Of course, I wouldn't really know without living there, but it's never appealed.
yeah but oz and NZ are much closer than Oz and Europe...think the QOL in europe is not as good....bar culture etc...
My home town :) Yesterday I went 4wding with my sister, my niece and and my daughter. When we pass another 4wd on the tracks there is always a friendly wave. I was having a bit of a problem on a sand dune with my 4wd and the first person to see me (a redneck drives over to ask if they can help. We also ran and jumped and slid on the sand dunes and collected shells along the beach. Quite a normal day but I suppose our normal days are pretty good :)
