I didn't ask for one. But this is what happened...
I don't recall ever having felt in the driver's seat when it comes to my life...
Lately I found myself pondering...in my consciousness...had I been able to lead a conventional life, would I want it?
Surprisingly...Probably not!
People have always tried to push me into a box to fit the straight path of a conventional life and even if my imagination engineers the nicest conditions, for some strange reason it has never ever really seemed to appeal...is the verdict from my conscious mind...so maybe my subconscious has actually always been helping me land far far out of the box!!
It's been a BIG week...weekend a little busy, hope you're having a good one!

I don't know about boxes, but straight lines are awesome.
hahahahah
This is a big subject, but for me it largely distils to a single fact. Followers lead conventional lives, non-followers don't. That's a bit of an over-simplification for several reasons, but I think it's fundamentally true.
mmmm a "conventional life"? I know what you mean but I'm not sure there is such a thing. It may just be an illusion.
No doubt it is people who love you who try to push into the path of what they view as a "convential life" because they beleive you will be most happy, fulfilled and safe in such a life. Unfortunately (or fortunately) that path of life has not already been created for you to simply follow with predictable experiences along the way.
I like your comment about not feeling like you are in the driver's seat of your life. I feel that I am now in my drivers seat but my car is just idling in neutral waiting for a green light.
I think it's typically human to put people in boxes. It makes life for some people more simplified.
HO, they certainly are far more efficient than squiggly ones...but how interesting can they be? LOL
JJ agree with you...lol, you rebel!
FG, some people lead conventional lives that follow the definite stages in the definite orders you society dictates... the straight path people!
I guess that green light is what you would equate to a "sign from God"? I think when you've grown up with asian parents and other similar restrictions you will understand what it means to not be sitting in your own driver's seat...
Xebeche, sure I like categorising too but ironically I dislike structures that close people in! LOL
Yes i suppose now that I relate it to my closest friends I would agree there is such thing as a conventional life following particular societal norms. Although still prevelant it is less common than a few decades ago.
Now I'm going to be a bit harsh on you. I hope it helps you. You seem to give yourself an excuse to not enjoy life as much as you could be enjoying it by labelling yourself as the child growing up in a western culture with asian parents.
Actually its fine to label yourself as that but in an appreciative not restricting way. Be thankfull that like most other parents god has struck them with a love and devotion stick when it comes to you and it will last forever no matter what happens.
I have a lot more to say but will say it by emai.
You say it you tell me FG! LOL I like this opinionated non passive you...haha ;)
but you misunderstood me...I would have to say I am enjoying myself...despite everything it's like with so much idle time...I got a life! hahahaha
Just did some Myers Briggs profiling at work. Found out my boss is INTJ, and 2 others are as well :P I'm ENTP officially.
yup, we INTJs make good honchos...hahaha! yep could have guessed you are an ENTP. I'd hire you ;)
I found my results. Seems I'm an ENFP. Does that put me beyond the pale? And why aren't you enriching my life at the moment. If Mercury insists on going backwards, can't you tell him to go **** himself.
Some more opinionated stuff :) I did'nt mean to suggest that you were not enjoing life. My guess is that you are enjoying life as much as I am "despite of...." But shedding "despite of's" is something I have been working on so that I can enjoy life more without a feeling of "despite of" (or at least much less "despite of's"). I would'nt want you to hold on to any "despite of's" unnecessarily. The I'm happy "despite of having controlling Asian parents" in my mind is unnecessary and could be shed relativly easily.
