a.k.a "Life Saver"

This post could also affectionately be known as "this stuff is DA BOMB!" (LOL)

So anyway not a paid PLUG by any means...I'm just saying if it weren't for this stuff...the last few months would have been incredibly difficult without!!!

In the olden days -like my folks time- when there was any kind of "ouch"- out would come this incredibly aromatic and sting-if-you-get near-your-eyes "white oil"...it is INCREDIBLY POTENT and amazing stuff. Put it anywhere you got an ouch(not open tissue) of course and it can go incredibly internal...for instance, yesterday I was feeling quite a bit of pain...to which I thought warranted taking two common western pain reliever pills....ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT (not naming names). After 2 hours and still no relief and not from other means e.g hot pack etc...I got out the white oil...except was in too much pain to actuallly bother lathering it on- all in all I probably used about 5 drops...wowee....this stuff is DA BOMB!

When it calls itself an "Analgesic Balm" it is by NO MEANS calling bluff! Next time I don't even bother reaching for the pills...go straight for the oil like I usually do!!! And the best part is you can get a small tiny bottle that fits conveniently in your purse too...not only amazing pick up for migraines or general sleep deprivation in your working day but also a great air freshener when the environment around you stinks and smells like puke(not that this happens to me often, but it did once).

Okay that's enough free advertising, LOL. Have a good day :)

p.s HO since you decided to fall off the blogging planet you can be sure I will be LATHERING up on this amazing oil for PAIN RELIEF!!! :-p O.K, I was just kidding, but do keep in touch like you usually do ;) The more miniature donkey photos, the happier you will keep me, haha.

Breathing through your pain.

LOL, today it occurred to me that this was a good dress rehearsal if ever I happen to have a natural labour. The breathing through your pain thing- focusing and concentrating all your qi into one part of your body and breathing through your abdomen.

I still can't feel my nose properly yet. That's how much anaesthetic I got drugged with.

The past 48 hours or so have been unbelievable all consuming pain and believe me I have had some bad pain like the time my leg got operated on down to the bone with only a topical anaesthetic....

A journey into the pain body is a whole other world...I guess it's cos it forces you into that all elusive "presence"- in any case now coming out the other end I feel incredibly detached from the normal world, like nothing else matters. So in a way it's good I can just chill out and take a much needed breather and leave the wordly worries and deadlines for another day.

And I noticed something...if you're going to have pain, TEETH pain, specifically trigeminal nerve pain has got to be one of the WORST kinds of pains to bear. This is cause it is searing and comes and goes...in such a way even constant pain is easier to handle cos at least when it is that all consuming you can just "go into it" almost like a meditation and just breathe...when it comes and goes like a wave the relativity of pain and no pain = PAIN!

So to cut a long story short...the nerve in my tooth got killed today. And I think I feel better for it. Fingers crossed x.

Adrenalin Junkies, Take Note!

It is not necessary to spend $300 or more to go get your adrenalin rush.

Every week, my heart starts palpitating, my stomach gets knotted and beads of sweat start forming on every conceivable pore: the feeling of FEAR sets in...

and the best part? It's all FREE!

What am I talking about?
Acupuncture clinical practicum of course!

Amateurs with dubious needling technique wield rough and cheap needles in almost every conceivable bodily crevice.

Each week all our pain thresholds get tested and the sense of danger is all too present as vulnerable little compulsory guinea pigs...especially when a certain needs-to-dig-for-gold teacher gets his hands on the needle... in this case, even the biggest, boldest most macho man is not spared the shame of displaying tangible fear- with very loud expletives known to emit from mouths!

For the amateur practitioner there is also a very real danger of being kicked in the face if you hit something sensitive like a nerve, tendon or bone.

oh, too fun :P
